Pastor Jonathan is a former college basketball standout and national champion at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Fla. He also played professionally before God revealed another path, so he retired early and started Cross It Up, Inc. This non-profit organization produces effective role models and leaders in today’s society by impacting the community through sports and community development programs, including the NOLA Prep Alternative Adult Education program, that empower people to “Change” their lives and “Build” bright futures, While earning a High School Diploma.

God revealed to Pastor Jonathan that He wanted him to use the vision of Cross It Up as a bridge between the community and the church. However God showed Pastor Jonathan that reaching people in the community through many different events is good, but its most important that the people that have been reached, have a place to cultivate there relationship with Father God, and be able to continuously grow and develop on a weekly bases with-in a supportive, vibrant, Gospel-centered community of believers.

In the spring of 2013 Pastor Jonathan went before the Lord and the Lord showed him that He is to plant a Life Giving, Gospel Centered Church with the Assemblies of God. After spending time In Michigan starting IMI/SUM Cohort at Blue Roof church, he later relocated back to New Orleans to plant Regeneration Church International. New Orleans is still recovering from Hurricane Katrina where their were many communities affected by High Water levels, some areas even by 20 feet of water. 1 out of 4 people live in poverty; their are many hurting people that have lost there homes, cars, valuables, and family members during the storm. Many kids that were babies at that time are dealing with post traumatic stress syndrome, depression, behavioral disorders etc… This city needs a mighty move of God, and we believe through Regeneration Church’s message of Hope & Restoration that this city will be rebuilt – one brick, one life at a time.

Pastor Jonathan and his wife Brandy have 2 beautiful children Zoe, and Jonathan Junior (JJ).
