Rev. Mario Forte was born in Opa-Locka, Florida and is a Pastor, Life Coach, Rap recording artist, author and Professional motivational Speaker.

Mario grew up in one of Miami’s toughest neighborhoods. By the age of 12 Mario ran away from home and began his life as a hoodlum and street corner drug dealer. He was soon recruited into one of the local Latino gangs and quickly climbed the ranks to become a chief recruiter. By the age of 17 he was addicted to cocaine and disillusioned with the gang life was contemplating taking his life when he had a life changing encounter. Without knowing it Mario successfully completed the 4 steps that he now teaches gangsters in order to successfully retire from gang activity.

He got a job, he got his high school diploma he surrounded himself with people that believed in him and most important Mario had a personal encounter with God.

Currently Mario is an Ordained Minister with the Assemblies of God and is Senior pastor along with his lovely wife Maria at the Cathedral of Faith church located in sunny South Florida. The Cathedral of Faith exists to teach people how to reach up, reach in and reach out! The motto of the church is “Discovering diamonds in the rough”.

Mario is best known for a documentary filmed featuring his life story called “From Gangs to God”. From Gangs to God has been shown across the World and translated into 47 languages. At last count it was seen by well over 800 million people.

As a result of this documentary Mario has also been a frequent guest on TBN (Trinity Broadcasting network). In addition numerous syndicated television programs have been fascinated with Mario’s life story and have interviewed him. Rev. Mario is well known for his dynamic ability to communicate with people of all ages in both the Spanish and English language.

He is recognized as one of the leading gang experts in the nation. He is known on the rough streets of Miami as Pastor MC. He not only speaks the gang member’s language, but he raps his message to the beat of their music. He breaks the ice with his own lyrics, in which he testifies of his involvement in gangs, his addiction to cocaine, and ultimately his new life.
